GRAND OPENING HELD FOR EUGENE ST. MARTIN YOUTH TENNIS COURTS

New to Highland Road Community Park are youth tennis courts specifically made for children ages 10 and under. Two standard doubles tennis courts were converted into four U8 and one U10 youth tennis courts. A new entry point was added from the playground and splash pad area so that the areas function together. Over $20,000 was raised by members of the tennis community to match BREC funds for the youth court project as a way to honor Eugene St. Martin, Jr. Mr. St. Martin has dedicated decades of his life to youth tennis in Baton Rouge and has taught tennis at BREC for many years.

BREC Foundation Vice President Rubin Patel was on hand for the dedication of the youth tennis courts at Highland Road Community Park.  The tennis community and interested citizens contributed over $20,000 to honor Eugene St. Martin, long time instructor and mentor.
