The BREC Foundation will hold a “trunk or treat a kid to camp” event on October 17, 2019 at Forest Community Park, 13900 S Harrell’s Ferry Rd, Baton Rouge from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  A highlight of the festivities will be a musical performance by 2018 American Idol, ABC Season 1 Contestant, 2017 Bayou Idol Winner Chaislyn Jane.   Located in the parking lot near the children’s playground and splash pad, participants will walk through a row of cars to receive treats provided by members of the Board of Directors and Community Advisors of the Foundation as well as sponsors such as Ochsner Baton Rouge, BREC, NFP and gatorworks.  In addition, Spider-Man and Captain Marvel will be on hand.

All funds raised will be used to help needy children attend BREC’s holiday camps.  During holiday seasons, these BREC camps are popular for parents seeking a safe and fun environment for their children to experience a structured curriculum that includes social and educational enhancement and recreational opportunities.

Red River Bank will provide free ice cream and Louisiana Lemonade will have frozen lemonade for the first 100 patrons.  La Carreta’s will offer street tacos and street corn and Firehouse Subs will have an assortment of salads and sandwiches.

The Brady Flavin Agency of State Farm Insurance, through the “Quotes for Good” program, will be offering a $10 donation to the Foundation for every quote provided for all Auto, Fire, and Life policies. For the quote to qualify, the individual cannot be a current State Farm customer.

The mission of BREC Foundation is to raise funds for parks and recreation to benefit the health, welfare, and culture for all citizens and visitors of East Baton Rouge Parish. We act as good stewards of funds entrusted to us by our donors and abide by their wishes and directives. We facilitate and support innovation, sound corporate governance, and the development of meaningful partnerships to further our mission and provide opportunities to our members.
